Shipping and Returns

Shipping

Packages are generally dispatched within 1 day after receipt of payment and are shipped via Overnight Express* or Economy Freight** - Door to Door, with tracking. Signatures are compulsory and the buyer must make themself available at the time of delivery. If you prefer your own courier or shipping company, please contact us before we despatch your goods. In some instances, this may prove faster.

* Overnight refers to locations that are Metropolitan (Metro) areas e.g. Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, etc... On Free Delivery options we have the right to determine if the package will leave for Overnight Express or Economy Freight.

**Economy Freight is 2-7 Days – Usually, goods that are very heavy or bulky, but not limited too, e.g. Body Panels, Engine Parts, Cylinder Heads, Differentials, Gearbox’s, Engines, etc...

Regional areas are more than 50 Km's from a Metropolitan area and can take 1-2 Business Days

Remote areas are more than 100 Km's from Metropolitan areas and can take 3-7 Business Days

 

Shipping Delays

In certain rare instances, Overnight Deliveries are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances on the side of the shipping company. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for that.

Outlying areas, especially Remote Areas do not have regular deliveries and Courier Companies usually dedicate certain days of the week for delivery. Please enquire about these delivery days before purchase. Courier companies also have a practice of "Third Party Handover". This means a shipping company will outsource a delivery to another shipping company, to a remote or rural area without either parties knowing. We have found that these practices often lead to a communication breakdown. We will not be held liable for the delays.

Bank delays or Public holidays will definitely delay shipping. Please take this into consideration when purchasing.

 

Free Delivery

Certain products qualify for FREE Delivery in all major major metropolitan areas in South Africa.

Currently, Purchases over R950.00 qualify for Free Delivery, except Goods classified as Economy Freight (Bulky, Heavy Goods Body Panels, Engines, Heavy Metal Parts, or as Volumetric Weight determines) as stated above. Please make sure you understand this before purchasing. The Checkout system will allow you to complete your purchase. We will then contact you with a Shipping Quote. You are also permitted to send your own Couriers. 

Mines, Plots, Farms, Game Reserves, National Parks, Universities, and Power Stations are excluded from Free Delivery. These require special trips and can attract additional charges. 

Delivery excludes Weekends and Public Holidays. These can be arranged at Special Costs.

International shipping is excluded. Please checkout using "In-Store Collection". Thereafter, we wil send you a shipping quote to your destination.

 

Shipping Exclusions

Grouping

Shipping can be grouped and a discount can be applied to the total purchase. This may only apply to three or more products purchased in one transaction and not separate transactions.

On certain products, a handling charge may be incurred. This will be communicated to the buyer before purchase on the product listing page.

 

Goods Inspection

Great care is taken in handling and shipping of goods. Goods are packaged with a reasonable amount of packaging. Goods must be inspected by the buyer at the time of receipt/delivery in the presence of the courier agent delivering the goods as to ascertain if any damages have occurred during transit.

Although items may be in Stock, unforeseen problems may arise e.g physical stock may vary from system stock counts. If these problems occur the buyer will be immediately notified. Refunds will be processed if the stock cannot be sourced within a reasonable time frame, usually within seven days.

 

Returns

Online Car Parts accepts returns. Buyer's must obtain a reference number before returning any goods.

Shipping costs on returns are for the buyers account. If goods fall under the warranty period, Online car parts will pay the delivery of the goods back to the customer.

Electric and Electronic goods go through rigorous testing prior to the consumer receiving it. Most manufacturers do not accept returns on electric or electronic items.

If the incorrect part has been dispatched from the part purchased by the buyer, Online Car Parts will pay for the shipping back to us.

If the buyer has purchased the incorrect part and is returning the part, shipping costs are for the buyer's account. Incorrectly purchased goods must be unused and in the original packaging so that Online Car Parts may be able to resell the goods. If the goods show any sign of use, Grease, or Debri and cannot be reasonably resold, the buyer will not receive a credit and will be asked to pick up goods from Online Car Parts or pay shipping costs for the goods to be returned. 

Goods returned to us must be securely packaged with bubble wrap or any another reasonable packing material. Goods returned damaged will not be credited and the buyer will be required to collect these goods at their own cost.

Whilst the goods are under warranty, Acts of GOD are NOT covered. Please do not return these types of warranty claims as you will incur unnecessary costs.

 

Warranty

1. Products carry a 3, 6, or 12 Month Warranty, which is stated at the time of purchase.

2. Certain products e.g. Regulators, Electric/Electronic parts do not carry any warranty.

3. Whilst the goods are under warranty, Acts of GOD are NOT covered. Please do not return these types of warranty claims as you will incur unnecessary costs.
