Brake Discs or Brake Rotors safety critical equipment in any vehicle. The discs are subjected to tremendous amounts of heat when the drake pads are pressed together onto it to gradually slow the vehicle down. Over time these discs wear thin and needs to be replaced. Failure to replace these safety critical items in time could lead to an accident.
Due to the high amounts of heat and pressure that these discs are subjected to wear and tear is inevitable. Often these discs warp causing a severe vibration when the driver applies the brakes. When the discs wear thin due to wear and tear the disc might crack and also cause vibration. Also, when your brake pads are not replaced in time, it scores (makes severe grating effects on the discs). Replace immediately with a new set of discs and pads

Food for Thought
In disc brake applications, there are usually two brake pads per disc rotor, held in place and actuated by only two brake pads per calliper, racing calliper’s utilize up to six pads, with varying frictional properties in a staggered pattern for optimum performance. Depending on the properties of the material, disc wear rates may vary. The brake pads must usually be replaced regularly (depending on pad material), and most are equipped with a method of alerting the driver when this needs to take place. Some have a thin piece of soft metal that causes the calliper affixed to a wheel hub or suspension upright. Although almost all road-going vehicles have brakes to squeal when the pads are too thin, while others have a soft metal tab embedded in the pad material that closes an electric circuit and lights a warning light when the brake pad gets thin. More expensive cars may use an electronic sensor.
